DIVISIONS





OHIO WATERSHED PROFESSIONALS ASSOCIATION
The mission of the Ohio Watershed Professionals Association (OWPA) is to promote the profession of watershed management through educational opportunities, networking, and development of the profession; to function exclusively for non-profit, educational and scientific purposes.

The Water Management Association of Ohio is a statewide nonprofit with six divisions1 to offer programming specific to a water discipline:
Ohio Dam Safety Organization (ODSO)
Ohio Floodplain Management Association (OFMA)
Ohio Groundwater Association (OGWA)
Ohio Lake Management Society (OLMS)
Ohio Stormwater Association (OSWA)
Ohio Watershed Professionals Association (OWPA)

There are 12 interest areas2 for dissemination of information and networking that address all water resources and professional activity within Ohio:

1 Divisions are selected upon membership signup. You can elect to be in one of the divisions as a primary affiliation. Contact admin@wmao.org if you wish to be added to one of our six divisions.

OHIO DAM SAFETY ORGANIZATION
The mission of the Ohio Dam Safety Organization (ODSO) is to promote dam safety in the state by establishing a partnership between dam owners, operators, engineers and regulators. ODSO provides a forum for education and discussion on dam safety related issues and provides a voice for all concerned in the formation and implementation of dam safety policy in the State of Ohio.
OHIO FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT Association
The Ohio Floodplain Management Association (OFMA) encourages managing Ohio's floodplain systems to reduce flood losses and promote the natural function of the floodplain system; promotes public awareness; supports the professional development and educational opportunities; facilitates cooperation and exchange of information among individuals, private, local, state and federal agencies on floodplain management issues; and monitors research and legislation pertinent to the effective implementation of floodplain management.
OHIO LAKE MANAGEMENT SOCIETY
The mission of the Ohio Lake Management Society (OLMS) is to promote scientific research and sound management of Ohio's lakes through education and technical assistance, collection and dissemination of water quality data and advocacy of the policies that enhance the quality and protect the ecological and recreational benefits of lakes for the people of Ohio.
OHIO STORMWATER ASSOCIATION
The Ohio Stormwater Association (OSWA) is a group of public and private citizens dedicated to advancing the management of stormwater and related natural resources through education, leadership, watershed-based coordination and technical assistance in Ohio.
